Bronx Contact Lenses

If you wear contact lenses, it is very important that you handle them correctly and that you keep them clean so that you do not get any contact lens-related infections; one of the most common and serious eye infections is keratitis. At our vision practice, Urban Eyes, patients are able to receive contact lens exams and fittings, and purchase Bronx contact lenses.

When patients have a contact lens exam and fitting at our vision practice, they will receive instructions on the safe handling of contact lenses and how to make sure that contact lenses are properly disinfected. This is very important so that people do not get contact lens-related infections in their eyes from wearing contacts. If contact lenses and their cases are not kept clean, or if a patient puts in or removes Bronx contact lenses while their hands are not clean, they are at risk for developing a contact lens-related eye infection. Sometimes the contact lens itself will have some type of bacteria on it due to improper disinfection, or germs can be transmitted from your hands to your eyes. If you have an eye infection, it is very important that you come in to see our eye doctor promptly so that it can be treated and so you will not develop any serious or permanent vision problems. The common signs and symptoms of keratitis, a common eye infection are: redness in the eyes; eye pain; excessive tearing; a discharge from your eyes; difficulty opening your eyes due to pain or irritation; blurred vision; decreased vision; sensitivity to light; or the feeling that there is something in your eye which you cannot remove. If you have any of these symptoms, you should come in to see our eye doctor immediately.
